Brianna Bowman King is an American fisheries scientist, photographer, and freelance writer living in Anchorage, Alaska. She obtained her Master's in fisheries science at the Fisheries, Aquatic Science, and Technology Lab at Alaska Pacific University. She now operates her own LLC, Wild Pacific Fisheries Research, providing scientific and policy support to the fishing industries in New Zealand and Alaska. Her research interests and areas of expertise are under the umbrella term of "conservation engineering", which involves improving the design of commercial fishing gear to be more sustainable. This includes bycatch reduction and reducing impacts of fishing gear on the seafloor.
